Truth hurts?

Fan-favorite and former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) superstar Nate Diaz returns to action next month (Sat., May 16, 2026), taking on Mike Perry at MVP MMA 1 inside Intuit Dome in Los Angeles, California, streaming exclusively on Netflix.

But before he steps back into the cage, Diaz is already in a war of words.

During a recent appearance on Theo Von’s podcast, Diaz went off on fighters-turned-analysts — with most of his fire directed at Daniel Cormier.

“What the f—k happened in your career then? Why are you an analyst now, Mr. Know-It-All?” Diaz said. “Talking about what I should have done, when I made more money than you ever made in your whole career at any fight, Mr. Champion. Those are the kind of motherf—kers that need their asses beat. Annoys the f—k out of me. This dude is boring as shit

Diaz didn’t stop there.

“And he wants to talk about what I should do and how I’m not a good fighter. I’m like, ‘Are you mad because you were the champion, and when I was nowhere near champion, I got paid way more money than you?’ That’s a f—king bitter little bitch who’s analyzing fights. You’re a great wrestler, DC, but you can’t fight for shit. You’re a f—king big ol’ p—sy. Remember when he cried? ‘Nate Diaz’s record sucks.’ You cried!”

While the two have taken shots at each other in the past, this newest rant appears to stem from recent comments Cormier made criticizing MVP MMA — and downplaying Diaz vs. Perry as not featuring elite welterweights compared to the UFC’s upcoming White House card.

It didn’t take long for Cormier to respond — and this time, he unloaded.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, the former two-division champion pushed back on Diaz’s money talk.

“The lowest form of insult is when someone says, ‘I made more money than you,’” Cormier said on his YouTube channel. “Nate Diaz made his biggest money fighting Conor McGregor… before that, he was making good money, but not that kind of money.”

Cormier made it clear he has no regrets about his own career earnings.

“I fought Jon Jones — that’s why I made my biggest money,” he said. “I know what I made, and I’m completely happy with what I made… It’s not like I’m sitting over here struggling.”

From there, “DC” turned the conversation toward resumes — and went for the jugular.

“He lost 13 times. This is who I lost to [Cormier holds up two fingers] — Two people in my life, guys, I’m telling you, it’s hard for me to fathom losing to 13 people in the sport that you chose,” Cormier said. “When I lost those fights, I was in my mid to late 30s. Two dudes were able to get me, but you lost to 13 people. You were losing fights in your 20s. You were in your absolute athletic prime in a sport that you chose, and you got beaten multiple times by all these people.”

Cormier then took it a step further, contrasting how each man handled defeat.

I cried because losing to me was like death,” he said. “Maybe if you cried, people would think you cared about winning and losing. You don’t cry — you go to the afterparty as if nothing happened.”

And then came the line that will likely stick.

“You’re mad because somebody is talking about how you’re average,” Cormier said. “Reality is, you’re average and always have been. You made a lot of money — that’s good — but you’re average…You won 21 fights, and you lost 13 to a guy like me; that seems impossible. Maybe it’s not, but to me, it seems impossible. And I will say that to your face as I say it in front of this YouTube channel.”

Cormier also pointed out Diaz’s tendency to call out elite names like Khabib Nurmagomedov, Justin Gaethje, and Dustin Poirier — fighters he believes operated on a different level.

For now, the back-and-forth has only escalated — and knowing Diaz, this likely isn’t the last shot fired.
